Deborah K. Graulich

Owner, President, Heartfelt Home Care

Debbie has been an entrepreneur since 1996, in the Service Industry. She had 3 Merry Maids franchises starting in 1996. While running these businesses, she noticed her senior clients needed more help and we used to do little extras like taking out the garbage to the street for them. Debbie always had a soft spot in her heart for the elderly. She lived with her Grandma for a short time and realized how happy she would get when she came home from school. She was lonely. While owning her Merry Maids businesses, Debbie earned several awards including the top best businesses in both the US and Canada four times in her 10 years of owning her business. This was based on customer service and many business statistics. Debbie says she likes good customer service. Debbie sold these businesses in 2006

In 2007, Debbie started a Home Care Agency with a franchise and later became individually owned and operated and changed the name to Heartfelt Home Care. She also transformed the Company from a Companionship only company to a Companionship/Personal Care Agency. What this means is that we can do it all, transfer, personal care, help with all Activities of Daily living from first needing care to hospice care, working with a hospice company. Debbie loves to see the smiles on her clients faces. Debbie has earned numerous awards while owning Heartfelt Home Care and recently received an Award called the Leader in Excellence Award which is an award given to the top 15%. Heartfelt Home Care also earned the Agency of Choice and Employer of Choice for 2020 and 2021. Most recently went from being Accredited to Accreditation with Distinction.

Debbie is also very involved in the Home Care Industry. Debbie was a Board Member of Home Health Services Association for six years in the capacity of Board Member, Treasurer and Vice President which was an Association for all of those who owned and ran agencies in NJ with the same license as she has. This Association represented itself as Advocates for both Caregivers and the Elderly. We also would hold meetings so all knew the new laws and how to work with them. Home Health Services Association of NJ was merged on January 1, 2021 and is now the NJ Chapter of Home Care Association of America. Debbie is the Vice Chairwoman of the New Jersey Chapter. We have lobbyists working for Home Care on both the State and Federal level.

This business became very personal and Debbie admits she learned the most when she became the Client’s family. Heartfelt Home Care took care of Debbie’s parents for six years. It was then that Debbie fully understood what our families went through. She is always open to sharing stories and helping family members to not feel guilty. Without Heartfelt Home Care’s help, I would not have been able to run my business. Through this experience, Debbie learned much about everything you can have done in the home. Debbie’s parents have since passed, but I feel we gave them quality of life and the best possible care available. This is what I want for all my clients.

Heartfelt Home Care helps senior citizens, people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, people with disabilities, people with cancer, cardiac care, Parkinson disease and those who need short-term and long-term help after an illness or surgery, and those needing long-term care. We work wherever our client’s call Home!

Debbie grew up in Florham Park and Whippany, New Jersey. She attended County College of Morris and Fairleigh Dickinson University where she majored in Business. She has three grown children and two grandchildren.

In summary, Debbie Graulich understands the needs of her clients and ensures that those needs are met with dignity, integrity and compassion. Debbie’s intent to personalize her clients’ care leads to her utmost goal – to maximize their independence and the ability to live their lives to the fullest extent, giving them the quality of life, they so deserve.

Tetyana (Tanya) Mazur

Client Care Coordinator

Tanya has a sunny and dynamic personality, as well as over 18 years of experience in homecare. She started out as a CHHA back in 2002. She quickly learned what it took to be a caregiver and how important that position is. In 2006, she worked her way to become the receptionist at the same health care agency. Her responsibilities were to answer phone calls, file documents, and greet new customers or job applicants. Tanya was taking on more and more each day, and because of this, she was promoted to clinical coordinator in 2008. In that position, she worked closely with patients and doctors. She is passionate about establishing a relationship with her patients as well as her employees and coworkers.

Tanya came to us in 2015 as a client case coordinator. She coordinates client and employee schedules and makes sure that it’s the perfect fit for both!

A fun fact: Tanya speaks 4 languages!

She is an absolute animal lover and resides in Rockaway, NJ with her husband, 2 daughters, and her dog as well as 2 cats.

Our Caregivers

We carefully match our caregivers to our clients to make sure the appropriate level of care, the right skill set, and the personality match your loved ones. Our Certified Home Health Aides are the most integral part of our business, as they are the ones who give our wonderful Heartfelt Care. We want to meet their needs as much as we want to meet the needs of our clients.

Our Certified Home Health Aides have received NJ State training with state mandated levels of supervision and also have Registered Nurse supervision. Our Aides also receive our Heartfelt Home Care training at employment along with on-going training in care procedures and clinical competency areas.

Our Selection Process

Our caregivers are selected based on the following criteria:

  • They have passed both state and federal criminal background checks.
  • We provide checks on wants, warrants, misdemeanors, and sexual predators list.
  • We have checked business references.
  • We check their drivers license and Certified Home Health Aide Certification to make sure they are clear and current with the State of New Jersey.
  • They have been interviewed by at least two people from our office staff.
  • We have zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • We have reviewed their clinical competency.
  • They have passed a written test to check their job knowledge of their profession.
  • Each caregiver completes a state mandated orientation including our policies and procedures, standard precautions, HIPAA, what to report to the RN, etc..
  • Our caregivers are bonded, insured, covered under workers’ compensation.
  • Our caregivers are all W-2 employees, and all payroll taxes are paid.  They are our employees, not 1099 employees.
  • Our caregivers will continue to learn with our special Inservice’s training that they complete on a monthly basis.
  • We have all of the special equipment an Aide may need to use in our office, to refresh skills if necessary.  A home health Aide learns how to use a Hoyer Lift in classes, but depending on the cases they have, they may not have performed that task in years.  We make sure all our Aides are comfortable performing all tasks, before coming to our client’s home, whenever possible.
